In this key role, the successful candidate will utilize their analytical expertise to interpret financial data, identify emerging trends, and proactively communicate insights to senior leadership. As a trusted business partner, the Financial Controller will help build a strong and efficient finance team, streamline financial processes, and contribute to strategic decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with financial processes, oversee reporting on P&L, Cash Flow, and other key financial metrics, and manage risks to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data shared across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Financial Operations: Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and processes, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to meet business objectives.
- Strategic Financial Partnering: Work closely with leadership to provide actionable financial insights, identify trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and potential business risks.
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, promoting efficiency, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, provide monthly management commentary, and present KPIs and metrics to support business goals.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate financial performance and insights with management and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the accuracy of data shared with directors and operations teams.
- Capex Management: Oversee the preparation and approval of Capex Authorization Requests in collaboration with operations, aligning with strategic goals.
- Audit Oversight: Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions and compliance with financial processes.
- Profit Optimization: Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for profit enhancement and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an MBA.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of combined accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a financial controller or leadership role. Experience in manufacturing and managing turnaround situations is highly desirable.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing finance teams, driving efficiency, and cultivating a high-performing culture.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and cost accounting. Proficiency in SAP and manufacturing environments is essential.
- Business Acumen: Strong ability to work as a strategic business partner across departments, influencing decisions and fostering collaboration.
- Analytical Mindset: Excellent ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
