Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Establish and maintain relationships with the providers to include employed physicians, contracted physicians (FFS), and medical directors.
- Partner closely with center and market leadership to understand and to understand physician staffing needs, ensuring alignment of clinical and operational goals and collaboration.
- Negotiate contract terms and prepare the appropriate agreements or contracts for prospective providers. Follow through to the execution of said agreements. Prospective contracts may include employed physicians, contracted physicians, medical directors, contracted APPS, specialty consultants, medical director agreements with Operators/Centers.
- Identifies, develops, implements and executes strategies for recruiting targeted physicians, in collaboration with internal recruiters through bi-weekly meetings and Zoho Leads module, and attending medical conferences and recruiting events.
- Conducts interviews with candidates. Coordinates physician interviews with key center and regional staff.
- Monitors payer credentialing process for new providers and communicates with appropriate parties for provider start date.
- Coordinates with the Training Ed Specialist, HR, and Clinical Education to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Identifies performance management opportunities with current providers, to include employed physicians, contracted physicians (FFS), and medical directors.
- Works closely with Regional Medical Director (RMD) to create a plan of development as necessary with current providers, to include employed physicians, contracted physicians (FFS), and medical directors.
- Analyzes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for AMP providers, including but not limited to physician productivity, admissions, rehospitalizations, provider turnover, market penetration, patient census, billing, documentation, time off, continuing medical education, and incentive compensation plan goals. Incorporates operator indication reports (e.g., red flag reports) as needed. Proactively communicates relevant trends and insights to providers.
- Collaborates with medical leadership, RMDs, to prepare data to present to providers with quality and outcome expectations, including but not limited to; productivity, time to sign notes, quality gap closure, 5 Star QM, AWV and ACP completion. DPO schedules and facilitates the meetings with RMD and the provider at a minimum of quarterly.
- Coordinates communication in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, any necessary operational information for any Medical Director or AMP provider.
- Oversees ACO Providers progress with satisfying requirements to be eligible for the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) including but not limited to reviewing weekly reports. Coordinate attribution visits in centers with employed APPs only. Attend LTCACO meetings as scheduled. Focuses on annual goals, benchmarking, PDPM, plurality and attribution, QM overview.
- Collaborates with clinical leadership and center leadership to develop processes that will continue to define the AMP Medical Model in the facility and create opportunities to increase- AMP patient census in each facility. .
- Works closely with Center Leadership to introduce, orient and manage the performance of AMP physicians throughout their employment/contract.
- Participates in scheduled team meetings, regional meetings, provider meetings, and internal and external marketing functions.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate information in the CRM/ZOHO and other systems to support business operations.
- The DPOs will work closely with the Area Clinical Practice Managers (ACPM) to support Collaborative Best Practice between providers.
- The DPO role requires a highly organized individual who is able to work independently, is self-motivated, and able to prioritize duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with and promotes adherence to applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.
- Provides leadership and support for the Compliance and Ethics Program within the management area.
- Ensures that staff participates in orientation and training programs including but not limited to all required compliance courses and relevant policies and procedures, and that such training is properly documented. Participates in compliance and other training programs
- Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline
- Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with consideration for equivalent professional experience, including 3 years of healthcare industry experience, preferably with an emphasis in provider relations and operations.
- Able to travel as needed with a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Out of town travel: 25%
- Knowledge and understanding of the physician practice operations and experience in drafting, negotiating and closing physician contracts.
- Excellent communication skills; written, and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism in a high-volume environment is required.
- Effective Team building skills
- Working knowledge of desktop software applications (MS Office, Google Drive, EMR/EHR)
