Physician Assistant Job Opportunity – Surgical Specialty
We are seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant with at least 3 years of surgical experience to join our practice focused exclusively on gender affirming surgery. This is a high-responsibility role that requires technical skill, independent thinking, and strong leadership in both the OR and clinic.

Key Responsibilities
Operating Room (OR) Responsibilities
• Ensures smooth, efficient OR flow—anticipates needs, ensures all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Always takes initiative to move cases forward and minimize inefficiencies.
• Maintains full engagement during procedures—no drifting attention.
• Acts as a second set of eyes for the surgeon, ensuring safe, ethical care.
• Independently performs:
• Mastectomies: Full case, including markings, dissection, closure, and grafting.
• Vaginoplasties: Assists in markings, setup, skin graft harvesting, and suturing.
• Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS): Bone contouring, flap dissection, fat grafting, liposuction, and plating.
• Phalloplasty: Microsurgical assistance, loupes, free flap monitoring.
Clinic & Rounding Responsibilities
• Independently runs clinic and takes full ownership of pre-op and post-op care.
• Closes the loop on patient care—proactively follows up on any unresolved issues.
• Recognizes when care needs escalation and communicates accordingly.
• Sees all inpatient post-op patients daily—communicates with hospital teams and coordinates care.
• Sees ED patients independently, assesses urgency, and coordinates next steps.
On-Call & Emergency Responsibilities
• Shared call responsibility (every 3 weeks, decreasing as more PAs join).
• Handles urgent patient calls, ED consults, and triages issues appropriately.
• Must be highly independent in managing urgent and post-op complications.
• Strong judgment on when to admit a patient or bring them back to the OR.
Teamwork & Communication
• Fosters a positive team culture—creates a professional, supportive environment for RNs, scrub techs, and MAs.
• Handles conflict maturely and productively—resolves disagreements without drama.
• Communicates effectively with MDs and staff—ensures closed-loop communication on all patient-related matters.
• Proactively provides updates to MDs on inpatient rounding, complications, or urgent issues.
• Attends weekly PA planning meetings and ensures OR/Clinic coverage for all MDs.
Timeliness & Professionalism
• On time for OR cases, clinic, rounds, and meetings—no exceptions.
• Prepares and confirms all OR equipment and supplies before cases.
• Executes all patient care responsibilities without needing reminders.
• Documents all patient encounters (clinic visits, calls, post-op checks) promptly.
Work Ethic & Problem Solving
• Demonstrates constant curiosity, growth, and problem-solving mindset.
• Proactively finds efficiencies in clinical workflow instead of just identifying problems.
• Takes personal responsibility for the quality of patient care and outcomes.

Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
