Alimak Group USA, Inc is seeking a full-time project manager (Houston, TX or Shelton, CT). As a project manager you will be responsible for managing industrial rack and pinion installations or refurbishment projects within our Industrial Division. This position is responsible for delivering Alimak’s sustainable solutions for our North America clients.
About the Job:
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring successful delivery according to project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints. This position requires collaboration with various teams, stakeholders, and external vendors. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of installation and refurbishment projects in our Industrial Division. Alimak’s Industrial Division manufactures and designs sustainable rack and pinion elevator solutions for cement, infrastructure, chemical, grain, oil & gas, power, other industrial clients.
Project Planning & Leadership:
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules, allocating resources as needed.
- Identify project risks and create mitigation strategies.
- Assemble and lead both external and internal teams.
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Facilitate internal and external meetings, ensuring effective communication and task prioritization.
Communication & Documentation:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project status, including risks and delays.
- Manage client expectations and handle any project changes or issues.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Generate status reports for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations to ensure efficiency.
- Create project schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Track project milestones, timelines, and deadlines to ensure timely delivery.
Quality Control & Risk Management:
- Ensure that the project meets quality standards, and deliverables align with specifications.
- Proactively identify risks and resolve issues to avoid delays.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Management, Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC with 90 days of hire.
- Proven experience as a project manager (2 years or more), with strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Familiarity with project management software.
- Strong proficiencies in Microsoft’s suite of business products.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Not required but a plus:
- Experience in AutoCad, 3D modeling, or other drafting software.
- Prior elevator experience.
- Licensed elevator mechanic.
- Experience with ASME 17.1.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors.
- Strong understanding construction contracts.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certifications.
- Understanding technical drawings, schematics, and elevator system designs.
Work Conditions:
- This position has the ability to be Hybrid, located in Shelton, CT or Houston, TX.
- Full-time position.
- 10% travel for site visits or client meetings.
- The first year may require up to 20% for training, meetings, and other on-boarding activities.
- Must be able to work in an office environment.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
