Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing. This role plays a crucial part in patient care and requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Duties
- Perform venipuncture and skin punctures to collect blood samples
- Label vials accurately and ensure proper storage of samples
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records of blood draws
- Follow proper protocols for specimen handling and processing
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in the phlebotomy area
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or completion of a phlebotomy training program
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting is preferred
- Proficiency in performing venipuncture, blood sampling, and handling vital signs
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on providing high-quality care
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory procedures and safety protocols
