Gas Leak Survey Technician

Alisto is seeking an experienced Gas Leak Survey Field Technician in the Redding/Chico, CA area.

This is a project based position and employment is through the end of 2025 project per our client

While on-the-job training to obtain the required certifications for the covered tasks, you will be paid the training rate of $18.00 per hour, until you have completed all training requirements and begin performing covered tasks under union classification(s).

Union Pay, If Assigned and Approved

by Client IBEW Classification: Gas Utility Worker

Prevailing IBEW 1245 Rate & ILB. Currently $47.53 per hour plus $21.50 per hour ILB. $50.00 Subsistence per day.

If you perform any covered union tasks, you will need to maintain and be responsible for your membership with the IBEW Local Union 1245.

Must have own vehicle in good working condition and with the required insurance, A minimum of 100K/300K/100K auto liability insurance is required and must be verified at the start of and during your employment, you will be reimbursed for all work-related and client-approved mileage at the current IRS rate.

If assigned to client-required or union covered tasks:

• Must maintain membership with IBEW local 1245 for duration of employment or assignment to union work.

Must have current certification for the following Operator Qualifications (OQs)

3-04: Atmospheric Corrosion

4-03: Leak Test at Operating Pressure

09-01: Conduct Survey

Others as may be required by Client

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain the required certification for Operator Qualification(s) and

OSHA 10-hour Construction training on their own time and expense. Alisto may, at its own discretion, pay for the

training and evaluation fee to selected applicants to be Operator Qualified.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Accurately detect and classify gas leaks, identify and grade atmospheric corrosion, identify and date entry of regulators, meters, etc. per provided guides,
• Measure and record specific field data at locations provided by the client with strict conformance with the

Client’s procedures and industry standards,

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain portable leak detection equipment and tools as needed,
• Requires travel of up to 100% of the time
• Some positions are for weekend work only.
• Functions and duties may be supplemented or revised by Alisto, at its sole discretion or as directed by client
• Work is mostly outside under various weather conditions but may also require entry into buildings

Education, Certificates and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required, AA degree in technical or engineering subjects desired
• Good written and verbal skills
• Must have completed the OSHA 10-hour Construction training and be current within the last 3 years
• Must be able to complete basic data entry and read and identify locations from provided maps

Education, Certificates and/or Work Experience Requirements

• Must be familiar with basic Smart phone or tablet functionality and related applications
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Must take and pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and background check and must adhere to and is

subject to all U.S. Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol related regulations

• Must always follow and adhere to Alisto and Client’s safety plans and procedures

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work outside under various weather conditions
• Must be able to carry up to 25 lbs. for extended period.
• Must be able to wear personal protective gear correctly, if required
• As assigned, must be able to operate a portable drill roto-hammer (10 lbs. weight)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47.53 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
