We are searching for a professional to support our business growth at Alithic. This Electro-Mechanical Technician position is responsible for helping with the buildout, commissioning, and operation of a pilot facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electro-mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Alithic upgrades, carbonates, and transforms low-value feedstocks into cement replacement products used in the concrete industry. Our patented process uses direct air capture (DAC) technology to capture CO2 and sequester it into the cement replacement products. Alithic is building a pilot test facility in Madison, WI as part of the scale up process and is looking for an individual that can help and grow with the business. The technology has been developed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with installing, modifying, and updating equipment.
- Assists in the operation and testing of the process equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, instrumentation, and control malfunctions.
- Perform repairs and replace defective components, such as motors, drives, bearings, instruments, and control systems.
- Maintain and service electrical systems, including circuit breakers, motor control centers, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Minor piping and plumbing modifications.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks and schedules PMs to keep equipment updated and in good working order.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a process environment.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, drives, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Able to read and understand schematics such as P&IDs, one lines, wiring diagrams, specifications/data sheets, and O&M manuals.
- Experience with lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permit procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Understands PLC systems (Rockwell a plus).
- Possesses interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within the team and the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
