Overview

AlivaMab Biologics is seeking an experienced and motivated Research Associate to join our Protein Sciences Team to support protein production and characterization workflows.  As part of an interdisciplinary research team, the selected individual will be a key contributor to the progression of exciting antibody discovery and engineering efforts. This position will report to the Principal Scientist, Protein Sciences, and work closely with scientists in the Protein Sciences, Antibody Discovery, and Antibody Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide standard cell culture support including maintenance of mammalian cell lines.
  • Perform small to medium-scale mammalian transient expressions.
  • Conduct protein purification and characterization using FPLC and HPLC systems.
  • Provide support to protein production workflows and developability assessment.
  • Accurately and consistently record experimental methods, materials, and results.
  • Provide regular progress updates and present data at internal team meetings and department meetings.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with our Antibody Discovery and Antibody Engineering teams to enable project advancement.
  • Create and maintain reagents inventory both physically and electronically.
  • Document the work in ELN.
  • This is a full-time and lab-based position.

Qualifications

  • BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific field with 0-2 years of relevant industry experience; or MS degree.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills and ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Mammalian cell culture experience is required
  • Hands-on experience in transient mammalian expression is highly desirable
  • Expertise in protein purification using AKTA instruments is essential
  • Familiarity with biochemistry techniques (e.g ELISA) and analytical techniques (SEC-HPLC) is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with automated platforms is desired
  • A keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism and dedication to exceptional quality.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment

The salary range for this position considers various factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Note that this range does not reflect any geographic adjustments based on the location where the role will be based. At AlivaMab Biologics, it is uncommon for a new hire to start at or near the top of the salary range, as compensation is tailored to each individual’s circumstances.

 

The current estimated range is $54,500 – $73,500, plus a bonus target, benefits, and equity.
