JOB TITLE: Pharmacy Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Job Description Available Upon Demand)
- Supports and implements the practice mission and strategic vision within their respective departments.
- Handles confidential information requiring professional discretion and compliance with protected health information, data integrity and security policies.
- Reads and interprets physician’s orders received in the pharmacy and transcribes same into the pharmacy computer medication profile: Work is verified by a licensed Pharmacist.
- Prepares in accordance with standards of pharmacy practice compounds for outpatient use under direct pharmacist supervision.
- Prepares in accordance with pharmacy law and standards of pharmacy practice outpatient RXs to be dispensed after pharmacist approval.
- Keeps procedures up to date in pharmacy tech manual to train new personnel and to have quick reference to specific jobs so they are performed according to the policies of the department.
- Checks and removes outdated medication on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated medications are in stock: Keeps appropriate records.
- Assists with checking in orders, putting orders away and filing associated paperwork.
- Continues to educate by attending drug in-services and keeping up with policy changes.
- Prepares prescriptions for delivery or mail.
- Bring prescriptions curbside to patients that are unable to enter the clinic.
- Assists in the annual inventory normally conducted on a Saturday.
- Other clinical or administrative duties as assigned to meet practice needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma | Current Registered DHHS Pharmacy Technician | Pharmacy Technical Training Program Certificate Preferred | Junior College Graduate or State Certification as Pharmacy Technician | No Record of Alcohol, Drug-Related Misdemeanor or Felony Conviction | Medical Terminology | Familiar with EMR Systems
EXPERIENCE: One-year of prior pharmacy experience duties assigned by a licensed Pharmacist preferred; however, not required.
