Job Summary
*** MUST OBTAIN APS WITHIN 18 MONTHS OF HIRE***
Responsible for providing youth training using the evidence-based curriculum, prevention presentations, and positive alternative activities to the community in support of program services. Work requires that staff promote proactive processes to address and promote health and wellness for individuals, families, and communities by enhancing protective factors and by precluding negative factors that place individuals at risk for substance abuse. Work requires basic concern for quality of care, appropriate for helping at-risk youth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Communicates with Program Director/Lead Prevention Specialist and assists in coordinating program activities with service providers, school districts, and community. Program activities include prevention education, presentations, and positive alternative activities.

Represent the agency and speak before the public and the private sector.

Implement and is familiar with key measures for reporting purposes and maintains appropriate CSAP strategies pertaining to program design.

Provides youth training using the evidence-based curriculum to program attendees.

Administers surveys to participants and appropriate referrals if needed.

Provides problem identification and referrals to appropriate community-based agencies.

Complies with implementation plan activities.

Documents attendance and participation on time in compliance with agency policies and procedures, including documentation of services provided, documentation of referrals made, progress and follow-up reports, and other timely status and compliance reports as requested by the Director.

Providing information about prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use; keeping current with literature and developments in the field.

Attends specific training in the curriculum implemented for prevention education/skills training before facilitating sessions independently and specific 16-hour training as required.

Prepares and maintains records as required and administers consent forms and participant files in a timely manner.

Participates in agency-wide activities as needed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the organization in furthering its mission.

Maintains good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism. Punctual at all times; takes initiative to identify and analyze problems; generates alternative solutions.

Responds to all communication from both internal and external sources in a timely manner. Carries out any and all other assignments to meet the goals and objectives of Aliviane Inc. Understands, accepts, implements, and promotes Aliviane Inc. Mission Statement, program/department goals, philosophy, and objectives; Serves as a role model for employees, clients and community partners.

Have knowledge of the agency’s programs to refer individuals who seek information.

Maintain working knowledge of personnel and company policy and procedures.

Ability to express self in English in a clear, concise, understandable manner, both orally and in writing.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Travel
25% travel is expected for this position to air travel, local and regional travel.
Schedule
The work schedule is Standard from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and on a flexible schedule on planned events.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
-
Associate degree in psychology, education, sociology, or related field; have designation of APS or achieve within 20 months of employment.

2-4 Years Experience
-
Any combination of education and experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.

Salary : $13
