The HSE Technician is responsible for actively monitoring and maintaining a safe working environment within a manufacturing facility by conducting safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, providing employee training, and investigating incidents to prevent workplace accidents and injuries, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulation

The HSE Technician is responsible for actively monitoring and maintaining a safe working environment within a manufacturing facility by conducting safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, providing employee training, and investigating incidents to prevent workplace accidents and injuries, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulation
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) audits and inspections throughout the facility to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Identify potential hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure implementation.
- Evaluate workplace hazards, operational risks, and potential exposures to ensure safe working conditions.
- Implement control measures and provide recommendations to reduce risks in manufacturing operations.
- Assess and document the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and implement necessary safety controls.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations to identify potential musculoskeletal risks for employees.
- Recommend adjustments to workstations, tools, and procedures to minimize ergonomic injuries.
- Participate in sustainability and environmental initiatives, ensuring workplace compliance with ESG standards.
- Contribute to waste reduction, energy efficiency, and overall environmental impact reduction programs.
- Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents and accidents, identifying root causes.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
- Develop and deliver safety training sessions for employees on topics such as PPE use, hazard communication, and emergency response.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
- Perform Safety Behavioral Observations (SBOs) to ensure employees follow safety protocols.
- Lead Safety GEMBA walks to engage employees in continuous safety improvements.
- Track and ensure completion of actions identified in GHSM (Global Health & Safety Management) audits.
- Ensure timely investigation and closure of reported safety incidents and accidents with corrective actions implemented.
- Monitor and close out findings from risk assessments, behavioral observations, and safety walks.
- Follow up on EHS audit findings, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with safety requirements.
- 1-2 years experience supporting HSE in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field, required. Degrees relating to safety, industrial hygiene or a related field with a technical/engineering focus, The role holder will as a minimum hold the OSHA 30 hours general industry or CSP, preferred
- Prior exposure to ISO14001 & ISO 18001 environmental & occupational standards; have experience of driving compliance and improvement inside the environmental area
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of OSHA safety legislation and understand current practices in topics as diverse as machinery guarding, lockout/tagout, chemical hygiene, respiratory protection, etc.
- Experience with working with formal Management of Change systems (MOC) to reduce safety and operational risks. Formal experience in Process Safety Management techniques such as HAZOP is an advantage but not essential for the role.
- The applicant should be able to demonstrate experience in application of behavioral safety management systems in order to drive an interdependent culture within a workforce.

- Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
