We are currently seeking one stellar Patient Information Coordinator for a hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio! Our client is a Hospitalist group that offers administrative and clinical support to hospitals across the country. As the Patient Information Coordinator (PIC), you will provide administrative support for Hospitalists to allow clinicians to maximize their time spent on patient care. You will work closely with physicians and patients to ensure that all administrative and patient care tasks are completed in a timely, accurate, and friendly manner.
- Schedule :
- 4 : 30 a.m. - 12 : 30 p.m.,
- rotating weekends and holidays
- Responsibilities :
- Support several physicians on an administrative level regarding scheduling, patient distribution, note-taking, meeting coordination, and all other administrative needs.
- Assist with patient appoinrments as necessary.
- Create daily rounding list by 5 : 00 a.m.
- Meet with each physician daily and distribute final rounding lists to clinicians, floors, nursing stations, etc.
- Data entry of patient information for billing purposes. Verifying insurance and all other documents sent to the Primary Care Physician via fax.
- Gather necessary documents from Medical Records (EMR) for each patient.
- Liaise between hospitalists, hospital staff, and corporate offices to ensure accurate information is delivered and received.
- Walk through the hospital to visit each assigned patient daily.
- Distribute brochures explaining how policies of working with Primary Care Physicians.
- Complete Bedside Patient Experience (PET) questionnaire with each patient prior to discharge.
- Provide Extended Touch services (required extended patient visits) and complete Extended Touch Reporting, i.e. HCAHPS, and Detail Doctor reports.
- Attend and participate in department and one-on-one meetings. Accept and provide constructive feedback to improve patient and provider experience.
- Acknowledgement to emails in a timely manner (within 24 - 48 hours) and communicate expertly with patients via video call and email.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, Unit Coordinator, ER Tech, or similar position
- Computer literacy
- Accurately input data entry information (upload documents, fax / electronic submissions)
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Familiarity with ICD 10 and CPT codes (preferred)
- Ability to interact with patients and physicians
- Ability to prioritize and have strong problem-solving skills
- Organizational and Attention to Detail skills
- Excellent Customer Service – Positive attitude, ability to get along with others
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and security of private and sensitive information
- Ability to follow HIPAA guidelines / compliance.
