All About Smiles, a holistic and biological dental office in Pike Creek, is seeking full-time Dental Assistants to join our team. We’re a family-friendly practice looking for enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and share their knowledge with our patients. The ideal candidate is open to learning about biological dentistry, holistic health, and neuromuscular dentistry while building on their traditional dentistry skills. A positive attitude, a friendly personality, and a team-oriented mindset are essential to help us achieve our common goals.

Hours are 7:30am - 4pm Mon - Wednesday. Thursday 7:30am to 3pm and Fridays from 8am - 1pm.

Responsibilities

Manage Dental and Medical Emergencies:

  • Follow OSHA and office procedures for handling emergencies.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Ensure emergency drug and oxygen supplies are stocked and up to date.
  • Keep an updated emergency telephone directory.

Patient Care and Procedures:

  • Fabricate and re-cement temporary or permanent crowns with temporary cement to relieve patient discomfort when assigned or if the dentist is unavailable. Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Preliminarily fit and finish composite restorations.
  • Fabricate temporary crowns that meet office standards for appearance and quality.
  • Expose radiographic studies and provide diagnostic information.
  • Pour, trim, and polish study casts to meet lab and office standards.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and clean/polish removable appliances.
  • Take preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.

Chairside Assistance:

  • Provide suctioning and hand instruments to the dentist during exams and procedures to maintain patient comfort and support the dentist’s efficiency.
  • Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth, as needed.

Infection Control and Safety:

  • Manage asepsis and infection control by adhering to OSHA and office safety protocols.

Professional Conduct and Team Collaboration:

  • Maintain a professional, pleasant, and cooperative demeanor at all times.
  • Ensure regular, consistent, and punctual attendance according to the assigned schedule and time-off policies.
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Additional Expectations:

  • Occasionally travel by car or plane for continuing education or seminars.
  • Memorize and effectively deliver scripts as needed, both over the phone and in person.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned periodically.

  • Active Listening: Provide full attention to others, ensuring clear understanding and asking appropriate questions without interrupting.
  • Reading Comprehension: Demonstrate strong understanding of written work-related documents.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively convey information to others using excellent verbal communication.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine equipment maintenance and recognize when and what type of maintenance is required.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
  • Diploma or Certificate from an accredited dental assisting program.
  • Minimum of Two Years of dental practice experience.
  • Preferred: Post-Secondary Certificate (e.g., EDDA or EFDA license) awarded for training completed after high school.
  • X-Ray Certification required.
  • All About Smiles DA-3 Proficiency Test must be successfully completed.
