Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Group Home for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Location: Chesapeake
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11 pm-7am & e/o Sunday 7pm-7am
Compensation: $16.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities by:
- Supporting with Activities of Daily Living: Help individuals with tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Maintaining a Safe and Comfortable Environment: Assist with keeping the living spaces clean, organized, and conducive to healthy living.
- Facilitating Community Integration: Support individuals in participating in community activities and fostering independence in social environments.
- Ensuring Health and Safety: Monitor health conditions and promptly address any concerns to ensure safety and well-being.
- Implementing Support Plans: Follow individual's ISP and contribute to the overall development of each person’s goals.
- Documenting Services: Accurately complete service documentation using an electronic system (Therap).
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Prior experience in personal care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
- Compassion: A caring and empathetic demeanor, with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with individuals and team members.
- Health Requirements: Current TB/PPD test required.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification, TOVA (Behavior Management Training), and 32-Hour Medication Management training are required or must be obtained upon hire.
- Clear Background: Must have a background free of barrier crimes.
- Transportation: Reliable, insured transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
