Pay Range: $26 - $36 / hour standard rate with on-site event work compensated at standard 30% premium rate

Summary

The Automation Technician's role is to support the All Access automation systems, ensuring show readiness and safety, by performing maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment and/or running the automation control consoles. They will receive the opportunity to develop a thorough knowledge of all automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a "team player" spirit. This is a non-exempt hourly position that includes eligibility for PTO, health insurance, and 401k program after probationary period.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the automation systems, ensuring show readiness and safety, by performing maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment and/or running the automation control consoles
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all automation and control systems
  • Operate the automation control console and cue tracks in a safe and consistent manner for performances, artist training and maintenance operations
  • Inspect and maintain electronic, hydraulic and motorized equipment and systems as directed
  • Control machines and processes, by using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes
  • Keep track of inventory of spare parts and supplies
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of automation equipment specific to the production in order to operate it safely
  • Participate in special projects including the installation of new automated show elements, and interdepartmental projects that include automated elements or other needs that may fall within the technician's specialty, as directed
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all established safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show
  • Participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least 1 year of previous experience operating and maintaining motion control systems; theater experience with high large-scale productions is a strong asset;
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics;
  • Working knowledge and experience with industrial machines, motors, gearboxes and related tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance;
  • Working knowledge of AC\DC theory and electrical safety;
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean and neat appearance
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime
  • Hand tools (Not required but a plus)
  • Valid driver license
  • Forklift certified (Will Train)
  • Although not a pre-employment condition, this position requires you to be fully vaccinated

  • Ability to regularly lift 50 ' 75 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
