Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems, ensuring they operate effectively and meet safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, construction inspection, and system design.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and related equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards.
- Utilize voltmeters and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues with alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot to determine fault or faults to include ground faults with fire alarm systems.
- Repair or replace damaged fire alarm components such as FACP, power supply, alarm-initiating devices, etc.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding their alarm systems as well as educating them on their systems.
- Document all work performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Help plan and participate in safety meetings
- May be required to train new employees
Requirements
- At least one year of proven experience in field service related to fire alarm systems or similar electrical work.
- Familiarity with fire sprinkler fitting and fire alarm installation is preferred.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of construction inspection processes.
- Ability to install, detect issues, and implement solutions effectively within fire alarm systems.
- Must have a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Low voltage license
- Must be self motivated and need little direction or supervision
- Knowledge of Service Trade is highly preferred
- Working knowledge of other fire protection components such as fire sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers is highly preferred
