JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
The Auto Salvage Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently dismantling vehicles and being in charge of the online sales process. As an Auto Salvage Associate you will be required to have a blend of automotive knowledge, eCommerce skills, and logistical capabilities. The ideal candidate will assist customers and associates in locating parts, handle eBay listings by taking high-quality photographs and writing detailed descriptions, manage inventory, and ensure timely shipping of orders, delivering parts and inventorying incoming vehicles.
*Summary of Responsibilities:
- Assist customers and associates in identifying and sourcing auto parts, providing knowledgeable support and recommendations.
- Assist in preparing vehicles for end of life scrapping including dismantling and sorting parts, cores and commodities
- Keep the yard clean and organized, continually bring parts forward and return parts to the yard updating locations in the Yard Management Software.
- Identify, retrieve, and inspect, pull and prep sheet metal, mechanical, and electrical auto parts
- Efficiently dismantle vehicles to extract parts, dismount tires and maintain the tire machine ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Assist the eBay sales process, including photographing parts, creating compelling listings, and adding accurate descriptions.
- Utilize Checkmate and other inventory management systems to log and track parts, ensuring accurate inventory counts.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and organization.
- Prepare and ship 3 to 5 packages daily, ensuring timely delivery and proper packaging of parts.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Keeping a safe, clean and organized driveway
- Achieve a customer satisfaction rating of 90% or higher through effective communication and support.
- Successfully list and sell parts on eBay each month, providing regular feedback to support growth.
- Protect and maintain our Excellent seller status on eBay.
- Maintain an inventory accuracy rate of 95% or better through consistent cycle counts and logging practices.
- Provide a timeline and ensure all outgoing packages are shipped within the suggested time frame to meet customer expectations.
- Dismantle vehicles within the suggested time constraints in a safety-conscious manner
- Label and tag specified parts to be relocated and/or added to our inventory
- Confirm the quality and verify condition of the parts for quality and accuracy
- Empty trash from vehicles before the vehicles enter the yard
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- GED or High School Diploma preferred
- Minimum 1 years of automotive experience required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and customers alike.
- Basic math proficiency is essential for handling transactions and inventory management tasks.
- A passion for automotive care and knowledge of related products will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, automotive shop environment, and central valley California cold and heat
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
