The Direct Care Staff is responsible for integrating love, supervision, and support!
Responsibilities:
- Prior experience in care-related roles preferred
- Provide direct care and support to adolescent girls who are dealing with trauma
- Assist with daily living activities such as monitoring classroom time, self-care, meal preparation, & activities
- Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans
- Promote independence and community integration for clients
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to supervisor
- Advocate for clients and provide supportive services
Qualifications:
- Experience working with teens, or individuals with developmental disabilities, or trauma is preferred
- Comfortable with assisting teens with healthy ways to process anger and de-escalating challenging situations
- Capable of administering first aid and CPR certified or willing to be certified within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with clients, families, and coworkers
- Must be 21 years old and have a clean criminal record and health clearances; a valid GA driver's license; reliable transportation for possibly transporting clients to appointments or community outings (mileage paid if necessary) preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations
- Understanding of person-centered care principles and ability to implement them in daily interactions; adheres to agency safety protocols
- Must feel comfortable supervising and working with children 12-18 years old
Note: Prior foster care, group home, DFCS, and teenager experience preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
Openings for Sat & Sun Morning/Evening ONLY; Part-time (have to be available 2 weekends per month)
If desired on-call/occasional evening availability
Main shifts: 7:30am-4pm OR 3pm-11:45pm OR 12 Hour Shift Options
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 27 per week
