Veterinary Technician
All Cats Healthcare Clinic has moved into its new 4800 sq. ft. clinic and are looking to hire an experienced veterinary technician. We have been established locally since 1993, and under new ownership since 2021. We are one of the few locally owned and operated veterinary clinics in Gainesville, Florida.
Our ideal candidate has 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a fast-paced veterinary practice. Practices fear-free and feline friendly handling. Has strong organization and communication skills. Willingness and ability to adjust to change and contribute to standard operating protocols. Team oriented and passionate about patient care. Aligns with our core values and mission statement. Passionate about feline medicine and continuing education. Candidate should be comfortable working with all breeds and temperament of cats.

Patient Care Responsibilities
- Triage calls (first aid, primary response) and direction clients to available care.
- Nutritional/behavioral/hospice/chronic pain management consults with established team clients.
- Care of in-house patients with routine updates to attending veterinarian.
Required skills
Applicant should be proficient or have mastery of phlebotomy, IVC Placement, intensive anesthesia monitoring experience (Capnography, ECG, Pulse Ox ext., blood pressure), surgical preparation, sterile supply, knowledge of AAHA/AAFP preventative care protocols, hospitalization and critical care nursing skills, proficiency with drug calculations and medical math, cytology and microscope skills, familiarity with common chronic conditions of cats, excellent client communication and education skills, comfortable with medical terminology and good record keeping.
Additional Skills - Training available for the following skills
1. Collect, stain and process touch preps for skin, FNA of masses, blood smears.
2. Perform cardiac screens for surgical patients.
3. Suture removals and wound assessments.
4. Bandage replacements for long term management cases, i.e wounds, tie overs, feeding
tubes.
5. Place NE tubes.
6. Skills to develop over time as caseload progresses.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
