STATUS: AmeriCorps VISTA, Full-Time
LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois, (currently hybrid remote/in-office schedule)

Position Summary:
All Chicago is seeking a mission-driven and highly organized Chicago Rents VISTA to strengthen efforts in increasing efficiencies within the homeless system. The Chicago Rents VISTA will enhance the capacity of All Chicago’s Chicago Rents program through connections with key partners through engagement activities. The AmeriCorps VISTA will enhance onboarding materials for new staff and landlords and support in the development of a case conferencing framework. The VISTA will also lead continuous evaluation of quality of Chicago Rents functions through surveys to key external partners and identify areas for growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is organized, highly dependable, and skilled at collaborating with various stakeholders.
The Chicago Rents VISTA will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders and partners across the city of Chicago to support a diverse set of initiatives targeted at ending homelessness. This role offers the chance to be involved in homeless services at a system level and to understand the Continuum of Care and collective impact model.
All Chicago supports AmeriCorps VISTAs through a robust onboarding program, weekly supervision from a task supervisor, monthly meetings with all VISTAs on important topics, and professional development opportunities.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Complete orientation and training on the Continuum of Care, HUD and the efforts underway in Chicago to prevent and end homelessness.
- Research case conference models that exist within the homelessness system.
- Develop training materials for new staff around the Chicago Rents program and for landlords.
- Plan and execute quarterly community engagement events focused on landlord partners.
- Support in facilitating case conferencing between Chicago Rents team members, Rapid Rehousing Staff and external housing case managers.
- Develop data reports based on outreach efforts for relevant CoC committees and interest groups.
- Strengthen existing policies and processes utilizing the continuous quality improvement process.
- Evaluate the landlord experience through a survey targeted to landlords partnering with the Chicago Rents program.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in Chicago and will have the following:
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent degree or experience.
- Excellent professional writing and verbal communications skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic and integrity.
- Goal-oriented and results-driven.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, relationship-building ability, and ability to interact with a diverse audience.
- Requires ability to work from home and access to internet.
- Individuals with lived experience in the areas of homelessness or housing instability are encouraged to apply.
- If a candidate is selected, they must complete the necessary CNCS paperwork, and the candidate must accept our offer of the position through the AmeriCorps Portal.
VISTA service term begins May 2025 and is 1 year of service.
