REPORTS TO : Program Manager

STATUS : Non-Exempt, hourly, full-time

LOCATION : Chicago, Illinois (currently hybrid remote / in-office schedule)

SALARY RANGE : $44,770- $59,400 (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary :

All Chicago is seeking a Program Coordinator to serve critical roles in carrying out program support, administration, and collaboration with subcontracted partners coordinating a program area - Grants Management and Program Specialist - funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Development Continuum of Care Program (HUD COC). The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program is designed to promote a community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness. The program coordinator will assist the Program Managers and Senior Leadership to launch new initiatives, manage partnerships with service providers who carry out the program work, develop best practices and peer sharing among partners, and oversee partnerships subcontracting agreements with an eye toward system performance measures.

Coordinators are responsible for activities including but not limited to data processing and analysis, records management, the development of reports, and project planning. Position responsibilities and work volume will be established and evaluated through ongoing supervision, annual reviews, and the development of an annual professional development plan.

Specific Responsibilities :

Program Coordination - 80%

  • Support subcontracted and homeless service partner agencies to carry out highly effective programs; including one-on-one technical assistance support and capacity building opportunities for partner agencies.
  • Monitor workflow to identify areas for improvement; support internal and external workflow development and maintenance of workflow and reporting process documentation.
  • Use data to inform programmatic decisions, including collaborating with HMIS staff to develop data requests that support program process monitoring, creating new reports, reviewing data for quality issues and sharing data with partner agencies.
  • Raise programmatic challenges with the Program Manager to support troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining programmatic materials, manuals, websites and tools.
  • Conduct research on funding regulations, research base, and best practices, and incorporate into program operations.
  • Support specific special initiatives, as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Participate in program compliance reviews of subcontracted partner agencies.

Administration and Other Activities - 20%

  • Respond to calls from homeless and at-risk community members seeking resources and assistance.
  • Support the coordination and administrative activities of internal team meetings, partner meetings, and external CoC meetings.
  • Actively participate in monthly staff and team meetings.
  • Assists with All Chicago events and other activities as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and partners in written, oral, and in-person communication in both groups and at public events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications :

    Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in Chicago and will have the following :

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Justice or another related field is required. Master's degree in one of these fields preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Possess 2-5 years of experience in the field(s) of homelessness service delivery and / or housing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HUD-funded programming, Coordinated Entry and / or the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is preferred.
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to respond effectively to inquiries, complaints, or concerns, as presented by staff, consumers, service providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Work Environment

  • All Chicago's normal business hours are 9am to 5pm. We are currently working in a hybrid remote / in-office work setting.

  • Compensation

    Salary is $44,770-$59,400, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package (with some employee contributions) includes medical, dental, vision insurance, and disability. Employer-matched retirement plan. Generous paid leave.
