Position Overview
AGC FC believes that in order to properly care for the needs of hurting and vulnerable children in Kentucky’s foster care system, priority must be placed on the wellbeing of foster families who have sacrificially agreed to care for these little ones. Our Foster Family Liaison will serve as our first point of contact for families or individuals pursuing certification as well as a steady support line for families throughout their fostering journey: providing education, emotional support and tangible resources to the parent(s).

Position Overview
AGC FC believes that in order to properly care for the needs of hurting and vulnerable children in Kentucky’s foster care system, priority must be placed on the wellbeing of foster families who have sacrificially agreed to care for these little ones. Our Foster Family Liaison will serve as our first point of contact for families or individuals pursuing certification as well as a steady support line for families throughout their fostering journey: providing education, emotional support and tangible resources to the parent(s).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiring foster families
- Engage and recruit foster family candidates through agency approved recruitment strategy
- Monitor referral database and coordinate foster child placements between agency and DCBS
- Schedule and conduct foster parent certification trainings (utilizing standardized curriculum)
- Complete the entirety of the initial SAFE Home Study with foster families
- Complete the entirety of the SAFE Annual Recertification with foster families
- Ensure all foster parent files are complete and in good standing according to agency standards and state regulations
- Plan and lead events & support groups that encourage and celebrate foster families
- Promote, refer and/or disperse resources for foster families as needed
- Serve as a liaison between foster families and agency
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
- Two (2) years of professional work with children and their families, OR
- Two (2) years of professional work in church and/or family ministry
- Solid technology skills and intuition (Google Workspace, etc,)
- Proficient oral and written communication, including public speaking
- Agree with ethical, legal and regulatory guidelines set forth by agency, local, state and federal guidelines
