What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Dental Lab Assistant position at All In The Family Dental?
Overview
We are looking for a partner/assistant for operating in our in house digital dental lab within our dental practice. Someone who is knowledgeable or understands the concepts of 3D printing and potential CAD/CAM designs. Prior dental knowledge or experience is not required, just ability to grasp new concepts because most knowledge is on job training. Employee must be creative and artistic and work well alone/ or with one other person. We are looking for someone with the ability and motivation to learn new concepts about the digital dental lab work flows. We are not looking for someone full time but if full time is needed then negotiation is always open. Ideal employer would be “tech savvy” and the ability to work and handle with small or delicate objects. Artistic requirements would be to have a nice steady hand and understand basic color concepts, potentially someone who has dealt with sculpting and molding materials. Dental laboratory experience would be ideal.
Responsibilities
- post processing/finishing and polishing all 3D printed materials models ,Essix retainers, surgical guides, printed full arch temporary hybrids (characterizing tissue and gingival contours) crowns/veneers/bridges grinding with burs and giving restorations secondary anatomy. (this will probably come with on job training)
- stain and glaze 3D printed materials
- Will do all 3D printing for our dental office or anything our current in house lab tech does not have the time to do
- Employee will work mostly alone upstairs and may require a lot of sitting throughout day and ability to focus on small objects for long periods of time
- few hazardous chemicals and proper handling and disposing
- Operating heavy 5-axis milling unit for full arch zirconia hybrids
- Polishing and finishing zirconia
- Characterizing sintered zirconia with liquid ceramic material
- Understanding basic chemistry concepts
- Ability to understand dental cosmetic concepts of digital smile designing
- Nesting and dropping STL files on to Platforms
- Checking in all lab cases and make sure everything is ready to go for case

- Proven dental laboratory experience but isn’t require to have
- Proven knowledge of technology concepts and abilities to navigate new softwares digital softwares
- Understand concepts of 3D graphic designing (line angles, shadows, contours, etc….)
- Understanding of core computer concepts of file saving and transporting files and unzipping compressed files

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
