Job Title: Instrumentation Technician
Work Schedule: 10 - 12-hour shifts; Overtime is required.
Starting Pay: $30.00 to $36.00 /Hr.
Full or Part Time: Full-time only
Reports to: Controls Engineer and/or delegated authority
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Pre-Engineering, Electronics Technolgy, Mechanical Engineering or certifications in relevant engineering field.
- Experience with industrial maintenance practices and policies.
- Proficiency in programming and operating Allen BRadley PLCs and MMI (RSLogix expierence a plus)
- Strong understanding or automation systems, components, and programming languages, trouble shooting and specifying VFDs in industrial applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
JOB SUMMARY:
Automation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and reliable production processes by maintaining and optimizing automated equipment and control systems. Working collaboratively with a high-performing team and operations personnel, you will prioritize safety, quality, and equipment integrity while diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. Key responsibilities include designing, installing, testing, and maintaining automated systems to minimize downtime and support seamless manufacturing operations.
The Automation Technician is responsible for:
- Skills to complete electrical drawings and sketches.
- Consistently complete all assignments/repairs as directed with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate and be able to teach the methods used to configure and utilize a computer to go online with the plants Allen Bradley PLCs and MMI systems to perform necessary troubleshooting and configuring. (RSLogix experience a plus)
- Must be able to demonstrate and teach the methods used to check and calibrate all plant pressure transducers, temperature devices, and 4-20ma loops.
- Demonstrate the ability to organize small electrical projects and carry the project from design concept through completion with minimal supervision.
- Will be required to continually design, update and carry out electrical PM programs.
- Will be expected to continually mentor co-workers in electrical troubleshooting.
- Must have working knowledge of programming, trouble shooting, and specifying VFDs in industrial applications.
- Must be able to install and troubleshoot Fiber Optics.
- Run and maintain RJ45 (Network Cables)
- Must be able to maintain and install boarding printing equipment.
- Must be capable of maintaining and troubleshooting lasers (Calibration) Limab

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Must be flexible with job duties. You may be required to fill in on other jobs or in other departments when the business or organization is short-handed.
