What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Sales position at *All Jobs?

- Sales & Marketing Business Cycle: Establish and manage the market area pricing strategy including setting pricing structures for various quotes and final approval of significant project specific quotes. Lead the implementation of annual price increases. Track, forecast, and manage the backlog of the business by plant and sales rep, using this information to make decisions on pricing, segmentation, and customer strategy. Accountable for all revenue P&L performance including volumes, MOM, average selling price, backlog, forecasting, VAP, and profitability. This will include but not be limited to: development of annual budgets and performance plans, monthly and annual backlog and forecasting, commentary on monthly results, and reviewing monthly profitability performance for the market area.
- Strategy: Drive continuous improvement of the revenue side of the business through the creation of Local Marketing Plans and development, and the implementation and tracking of action plans. Work closely with the area leadership team to develop same for overall improvement of the business. Work closely with the Dispatch, Operations, and Quality Control Managers to meet sales and service objectives and develop Talon/Quicksilver Branded Service.
- Customer Orientation: Serve as high level contact for key customers in the market area. Develop and maintain relationships with key members of customer’s leadership teams. Maintain a keen awareness of continuously changing competitor activities including pricing, backlog, capabilities, customer portfolio, and competitive advantages.
- Communication: Represent the company at a leadership level in various economic and social organizations that support the interests of the business. Responsible for the growth and development of all members of sales team, which includes: development and execution of Individual Development Plans (IDP), coaching, setting of annual goals and evaluation of performance bonuses, leadership in quarterly and year-end performance reviews, and determination of annual merit increases.
- Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual Strategic Assessments & Reviews. Investigate the dynamics and drivers of the overall market, specifically overall market size and growth trends, competitor market share and changes, segmentation dynamics, competitor strategy, and development of specific action plans to further the growth of the business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in construction management, business, or engineering.
- 5 years of related experience.
- Excellent customer service skills. Dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers.
- Must be flexible and able to balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions.
- Possess a general knowledge of construction and Talon / Quicksilver products and a solid understanding of the market, competition, and business opportunities.
- Excellent leadership skills – must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct, and actionable feedback.
- Possess a commitment and willingness to devote great effort and time in order to reach goals.
- Must have a strategic business focus and ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
