Job Overview Position : Director of Nursing (DON) / RN Unit Supervisor Facility Type : 34-bed Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care Shift : Variable day shift with 24 / 7 accountability Key Responsibility : Coordinating and facilitating nursing care to improve continuity and quality across the care continuum. Lead and supervise nursing staff, ensuring efficient operations within the nursing department. Oversee nursing care services to meet federal and state regulatory requirements. Collaborate with facility administration to develop and implement policies and procedures. Provide ongoing staff education to maintain competency and ensure high-quality care. Act as a consultant for nursing staff, offering expertise in areas such as falls, skin care, psychotropic medications, and chart compliance. Foster an environment that supports residents' rights and choices. Manage the department's budget and expenses and participate in developing strategies to optimize resources. Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required at hire. Experience : 2-4 years in a supervisory role in long-term care or relevant leadership experience. Licensure : Current RN license in the state of practice. Certifications : CPR certification required Desired Skills and Knowledge Strong understanding of reimbursement systems and state / federal regulations. Leadership experience in long-term care settings. Knowledge of quality improvement, infection control, and resident care coordination.
