Summary
The Senior Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution (PPBE) SME position involves intensive research, analysis, and coordination efforts related to the Law Enforcement (LE) portfolio within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)). This role is vital for optimizing development, management, and oversight of the LE portfolio, ensuring effective alignment with the broader Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC).
Essential Functions
- Conduct research and analysis, provide recommendations to leadership, prepare staff packages, develop position papers, responses, talking points, memoranda, briefings, and correspondence related to LE efforts as required throughout the PPBE cycle.
- Perform technical studies and analyses, document reviews, and budgetary reviews related to systems, procedures, and requirements within the LE portfolio.
- Provide support to organize, analyze, and coordinate planning, programming, and resource data needed for optimum development, management, and oversight of the LE portfolio.
- Support OUSD(I&S) interaction with Congress, including assisting in the drafting of testimony and responses to Congressionally Directed Actions (CDAs).
- Provide routine updates and briefs to senior leadership regarding the status and results of all meetings.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the programmatic and resourcing procedures and requirements in support of the OUSD(I&S) LE portfolio.
- May be requested and required to participate in Proposal Support functions due to expertise.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours required, as needed.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel and overnight may be expected.
