Job Title: Solutions Architect - Senior
Location: Portland, OR
Job Summary
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team in Portland, OR. This remote role is ideal for a local candidate with 5 to 7 years of expertise in designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, data warehousing, machine learning operations, and automation practices. AWS architecture and hands-on experience with AWS services are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture
Designed and implemented cloud architectures on AWS for various workloads, including web applications, microservices, data pipelines, and analytics solutions.
Utilize AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Amplify, and others to build robust and scalable solutions.
Optimize cloud architectures for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated deployment processes.
Data Architecture
Design and implement data architectures on AWS using services like S3, Athena, Glue, and Kinesis.
Build automated data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes using AWS data integration services.
Implement data governance, data quality, master data management, and metadata management processes.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and scientists to understand data requirements.
IT Solution Architecture
Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
Design and document architecture for new IT solutions, including system integrations, data flows, and AWS components.
Evaluate and recommend appropriate AWS services, third-party tools, and best practices.
Conduct architectural reviews and guide to ensure adherence to standards and governance policies.
General Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing to IT and data professionals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of designed solutions.
Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
5 to 7 years of experience in designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions.
Strong background in cloud infrastructure, data warehousing, machine learning operations, and automation practices.
Hands-on experience with AWS architecture and services, including IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, and SageMaker.
In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices, data governance, and AWS data services.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
Experience with Snowflake and other modern data platforms.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
