Job Title: Irrigation Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various irrigation components, diagnosing system issues, and ensuring optimal water efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of irrigation principles, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in outdoor environments.
Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, pumps, and controllers.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions such as leaks, broken pipes, or inefficient water distribution.
Program and adjust irrigation controllers to ensure proper scheduling and water conservation.
Perform routine maintenance checks to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
Ensure compliance with local water regulations and conservation practices.
Provide recommendations to customers on system upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
Operate and maintain irrigation tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Collaborate with landscaping teams and other contractors to ensure seamless integration of irrigation systems.
Educate customers on proper irrigation system use and maintenance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in irrigation, plumbing, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience as an irrigation technician or in a similar role.
Knowledge of irrigation system components, installation techniques, and repair methods.
Familiarity with various irrigation components, controllers, sensors, and water-efficient technologies.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy equipment.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Certification in irrigation or water management (e.g., Certified Irrigation Technician, Landscape Irrigation Auditor) is preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Regular lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Use of power tools and heavy equipment.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Mon- Fri, 7am - 4pm
- Schedules subject to change, weekends may be required depending on location
