What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at All Recycling Inc.?
The Heavy Equipment Operator operates a variety of material handlers and loaders to move, load and unload recyclable materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operating material handlers and loaders of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies
- Performing routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; cleaning equipment, greasing equipment, and referring defects or repairs to supervisor.
- Performing all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and operating standards; report potentially unsafe conditions
- Providing constant courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment with customers and co-workers
- Assist with purchasing of material as needed
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned
- Consistently at work and on-time
- Any other work as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Two (2) years experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
- Working knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in the metal recycling industry
- Skill in operation of above-listed tools and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
- Ability to observe proper safety precautions
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and customers
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
- Ability to drive and operate a variety of equipment under varying conditions
- Ability to make independent judgments which have considerable impacts on the organization
- Ability to understand industry material and proper handling
The candidate must be able to work Monday-Friday. 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday 8 am to 1:00 pm. The schedule may vary depending on company needs.

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
