LPN Primary Care

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Government Contract (10 Openings)

Location: Charleston SC, Savannah GA, Myrtle Beach SC, Beaufort SC, Hinesville GA

Job Summary:
We’re seeking experienced and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team under a government contract at the Charleston VA Medical Center. With 10 openings available, this is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our nation’s veterans. Positions are available in multiple units with flexible shift options, including 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts.

Available Units and Requirements:

1. Med/Surg Unit

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of current experience in a medical/surgical unit (within the last 6 months).
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends preferred.

2. Long Term Care/Nursing Home

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of current experience in a long-term care setting (within the last 6 months).
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends preferred.

3. Psychiatric/Mental Health

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of current experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit (within the last 6 months).
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends preferred.

4. Primary Care/Specialty Clinics

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of current experience in a primary care setting (within the last 6 months).
• Shifts: 8-10 hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with the unit’s standards and protocols.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support patient needs.
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in patient medical records.
• Be prepared to work with COVID-19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19.

Education and Licensing Requirements:

• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing.
• Active LPN license in good standing.

Health Screening and Vaccination Requirements:

Documentation of:

• 2-step PPD testing.
• Current Tetanus Toxoid.
• Immunity to Rubeola, Rubella, and Varicella.
• Hepatitis B vaccination.
• COVID-19 vaccination (REQUIRED unless exemptions apply).
• MMR vaccine.
• TB skin test, bloodwork, or chest X-ray.
• Current flu shot.
