Position Overview:
We’re seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish-English) who will provide both clinical and administrative support across front and back office functions. This role requires flexibility to work at various clinic locations and a strong commitment to patient care, communication, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform front and back office duties, including patient check-in/check-out, prescription refills, suture removal, and procedure scheduling.
- Provide patient education and assist with care coordination.
- Record vital signs, update medication lists, and document in EMR.
- Notify providers of abnormal results or changes in clinical status.
- Collect and process lab specimens and wound cultures.
- Support clerical operations: phones, scanning, filing, scheduling, data entry, and supply inventory.
- Monitor schedules, manage no-show reports, and maintain accurate access records.
- Ensure timely completion of medical records and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with vascular and ancillary services and contribute to a smooth clinical workflow.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
- Medical Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited program required.
- Two years of experience in a similar clinical role preferred.
- Proficient in Athena, DocTalk, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM and strong data entry skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-service skills.
