Seeking Bilingual Medical Assistant-Temp to possible permanent
One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred, with a strong ability to work with pediatric and geriatric patients
Patient Care :
Perform basic, routine, and delegated medical functions within the scope of practice, including vision screening, ear irrigations, EKG tests, and specimen collection (e.g., throat, wound, sputum, and urine cultures).
Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during examination and treatment procedures.
Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and provide clear, concise verbal and written instructions (e.g., crutch use, cast care, wound care).
Room and discharge patients efficiently while maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
Support in special procedures and examinations by preparing the treatment room and ensuring all required supplies and instruments are ready.
Clerical Duties :
Handle routine clerical tasks such as completing patient visit records, answering phones, taking messages, and scheduling appointments.
Assist with patient check-in and maintain accurate logs of visits and procedures.
Verify and confirm patient orders and ensure accurate documentation.
Phlebotomy and Specimen Collection :
Collect and process specimens as directed, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and transportation.
Maintain accurate phlebotomy logs and follow appropriate procedures for specimen processing.
Other Support Responsibilities :
Manage patient referrals and authorizations to ensure continuity of care.
Clean and sterilize reusable supplies and instruments as needed.
Provide essential administrative support in coordinating patient care and assisting medical providers with their schedules.
Qualifications :
Education : High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
Certification : Medical Assistant Certification (required).
