Overview
The Nurse Manager provides overall clinical and operational management on a 24-hour basis. Strong leadership, managerial skills, communication and collaborative skills are critical in order to provide quality patient care and an environment that fosters staff growth and satisfaction. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of human, material and fiscal resources to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, and patient focused care in the unit or service. Qualifications/Experience
- Education/Accredited Programs
- Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing program required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field preferred
Experience/Skills/Abilities
- 3 years relevant clinical experience required (5 Years preferred)
- Previous nursing management experience preferred
- High emotional intelligence required
- Basic understanding of principles of performance improvement and use of data to improve outcomes
- Working knowledge of regulatory and DNV requirements
- Ability to provide feedback and have crucial conversations
- Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employees
- Proficient clinician in ICU
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, E-mail, unit/service line/department specific applications
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:
- Current Registered Nursing license in the state of New York required
- Certification in nursing leadership preferred; required within 2 years of eligibility
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certifications if required for service
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $103,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
