Title: Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher
Reports to: Division Head

Position Description:
All Saints Day School seeks an energetic, proactive, and dynamic teacher of great initiative to serve as a lead teacher in fourth grade. Each teacher at All Saints is responsible for creating a classroom community and planning curriculum and instruction for students through a supportive working relationship. The classroom teacher works to understand each student from multiple perspectives and uses an integrated and interactive approach to learning. He or she builds meaningful bonds with students, maintains high academic standards, teaches children to engage in respectful and kind behavior, and promotes a love of learning.
This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position.
The anticipated salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $65,000 to $90,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, or additional duties which may be assigned.

Primary responsibilities:
- Prepare and teach the 4th grade curriculum via daily instruction which incorporates traditional and innovative teaching pedagogies.
- Design teaching strategies that are differentiated and address individual and overall class strengths and needs.
- Use a variety of assessment strategies, including formative, summative, and standardized assessments to monitor student progress and determine curricular needs.
- Document student progress, prepare report cards (including narrative descriptions), lead regular parent conferences, and convene additional meetings with parents and other school staff as necessary.

General responsibilities:
- Work individually and collaboratively with colleagues to design and implement programs to actively engage students in making connections, solving problems, and thinking independently; develop and teach thematic units and daily lessons in core curricular areas using the school’s grade-level curriculum and emergent topics that arise from student and teacher interests, outside events, and other sources.
- Create a learning environment in which students can successfully grow and thrive as they develop both autonomy and self-awareness, as well as the ability to collaborate and communicate with classmates as they learn, work, and play together.
- Model on a daily basis the conduct we expect of our students, and consistently exhibit the highest standards of professionalism.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings and work collaboratively with colleagues on committees and other work to further the development of the school’s program; attend all professional gatherings and in-service meetings
- Be available to consult with students, parents and colleagues as part of parent conferences and on an as-needed basis
- Create positive and effective relationships with parents to facilitate the exchange of information to ensure students’ progress, including verbal and written communication about the program, classroom routines, and school experiences
- Defend the dignity and worth of each member of the community and create an environment that fosters respect, understanding, and acceptance of differences; always model appropriate and ethical behavior
- Participate fully in the life of the grade level or class, student performances, and other such events. Attend institutional gatherings and events as necessary or requested by the Head of School in support of the School’s mission. These include but are not limited to: Fall Festival, Back-to-School Night, Admissions events and Open Houses, the Christmas Program, Recognition Night, Graduation, individual fundraisers, student performances, etc.
- Be available to assist with coverage (after school program, recess, lunch, study hall, performance rehearsals, and event duties) as needed
- Partner with supervisor and the Director of Finance to develop the subject area or grade level(s) instructional budget
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, openness to others’ ideas, and an eagerness to extend oneself for others
- Communicate, implement, and enforce All Saints Day School operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students
- Be a positive and contributing member of the professional community
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Head of School
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred
- Background knowledge related to the Science of Reading
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with parents, students, and staff
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- A passionate commitment to creating an innovative, joyful environment for students
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom community that allows for a multitude of
- perspectives to be heard and respected
- Knowledge of all curriculum development and differentiated instruction
- Broad knowledge and an appreciation of child development
- Creativity, flexibility, and a growth mindset, with an interest in being part of a community of learners
- Knowledge of educational technology to support teaching and learning
- Must pass Live Scan fingerprinting and background check
