What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Minister (Choir Director / Organist) position at All Saints' Episcopal Church?
Attention: Choir Director / Organist search All Saints Episcopal Church is seeking a Minister of Music to join the leadership team of the parish. All staff are responsible to the Rector. Respectful collaboration, open communication, self-motivation, and a willingness to grow and try new things are essential as we serve faithfully with joy. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong professional musicianship on organ and piano, as well as formation, empowering, and leading the choral music program consisting of 5 paid section leaders in addition to 8-12 volunteer members with varying skills in musicianship. Ideal candidates would have familiarity with the Episcopal service and the 1982 Hymnal, as well as comfort with and willingness to try both a broad expression of musical styles and new avenues.
Role and Responsibilities
* Rehearse and direct the choir on Sunday mornings.
- Play music approved for liturgical use * Have a willingness to accommodate a heavier schedule of services required at various times of the year (Holy Week, Christmas)
- Schedule regular maintenance of the organ and piano
- Manage music ministry budget
- Work collaboratively with clergy and staff
- Appreciate that music is one of the primary ways in which we worship, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Be a trained organist * Have prior experience directing choirs (preferred)
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a relevant field of study
- Be familiar with the liturgy of the Episcopal Church Preferred Skills
- Possess excellent sight-reading skills
- Have prior experience with a tracker organ
- Have an appreciation of traditional choral church music
- Have experience and facility working with choirs consisting of volunteer singers and paid section leaders, as well as adult singers with mature voices
- Possess a willingness to provide creative input on fundraising programs such as concerts

Pay: $24,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
