Job Title: Management Accountant
Job Description
As the Management Accountant at All Saints' Episcopal School, you will play a vital supporting role providing financial insights and analysis to assist with the operations of various Divisions and Business units. Your responsibilities will center around the preparation of management reports, supporting the budgeting process, and ensuring accurate financial analysis to help guide decision-making. Your attention to detail and expertise in accounting will contribute to the smooth functioning of the business office and the Schools financial management.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare, analyze, and deliver management reports for business units, divisions, and administrative departments to support operational and financial decision-making.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the school's annual budget, ensuring it aligns with department goals and expectations.
Track and analyze budget variances and provide forecasts to help inform financial decisions.
Support department heads in monitoring budget adherence and provide relevant financial data for decision-making.
Aid in the monthly financial close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
Identify discrepancies and variances in financial reports and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of financial documentation and schedules required for the annual audit process.
Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls in partnership with the Controller.
Ensure that financial reporting processes are efficient and provide accurate, timely financial information.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of management reporting processes, suggesting enhancements to systems and procedures where appropriate.
Provide analytical support for business units by preparing financial reports and assisting with performance tracking against key financial indicators.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends and variances, and assist in preparing reports for non-financial managers.
Experience in management reporting, financial analysis, and budget management.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial standards, and audit processes.
Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets, and general ledger applications.
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial records and reporting.
Proactive and solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
Capable of conveying complex financial concepts in an understandable way for non-financial audiences.
