POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Alumni Relations and Giving is responsible for coordinating all Alumni related outreach, marketing, engagement and fundraising strategy for the Development Office. In this role the Director of Alumni Relations collaborates across the Development Office, school house, and alumni society to meet fundraising and engagement goals in line with Penn Charter’s mission. The Director of Alumni Relations will help develop print, electronic, and social media strategy and content for publications and event purposes, as well as planning around reunions, the annual fund and other fundraising initiatives. As a solicitor, the Director of Alumni Relations will be responsible for growing overall alumni participation, the stewardship and solicitation of Annual Fund donors and gifts at leadership levels (currently $1,689 ).  

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the organization, communication and implementation of all alumni related events and activities both locally and regionally.  Specifically responsible for PC/GA Day, Athletic Honors Society, Downtown Reception, OPC Weekend and Regional Receptions, Alumni Society Golf Outing and Run for Peace.
  • Manages reunion planning process. Works with Associate Director of Development to determine giving goals, assign reunions and coordination of the development team.
  • Collaborates with Associate Director of Development to plan all activities related to the alumni Award of Merit, Gummere Teacher Award, Honorary 1689 diplomas, OPC Vision Award, Athletic Honors Society Inductions and Senior Award.
  • Responsible for alumni engagement strategy around events, communications, and fundraising initiatives
  • Serves as alumni liaison to communications, arts, athletics, admissions, CFPP, DEI office and school house
  • Responsible for alumni solicitation and expanding the alumni giving program
  • Drafts monthly OPC Spirit newsletter, and manages @penncharterOPC accounts 
  • Collaborates with Marketing/Communications Office to maintain accuracy and timeliness of Alumni section of penncharter.com and generates newsworthy articles for PC Magazine.
  • Serves as staff liaison to the Alumni Society and its executive board, supporting its efforts as needed. Attends regular Alumni Society Directors meetings and supports Alumni Trust meetings.
  • Manages Protocol Plan (OPC and OPC Family campus visits, condolences, memorial services).
  • Manages Class Notes process, including sending content solicitation emails and proofreading and ensuring information gets entered into RE.
  • Attends regular prospect and Annual Fund meetings to ensure Annual Fund engagement and fundraising goals are being met.
  • Identifies prospects who can increase their giving by completing donor research through personal contact, online research and by seeking out the support of the Director of Advancement Services.
  • Requires evening and weekend work.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development or their designee.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times

Required Qualifications

  • College Degree (Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Quaker Education and the Religious Society of Friends
  • Experience in working in a PK-12 school environment
