JOB SUMMARY
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare for start of shift:
§ Fill out Shift Reports at every Press
§ Verify each Press running has labels available for 1 skid worth of product
a. Take OQI to label location, verify each label to the OQI.
a) Note: If labels are incorrect, notify the Shift Lead immediately
b. Verify Labels are in the correct totes (Black or Yellow)
§ Verify Component availability
a. Do you have enough for 4hrs or do you need to order additional?
2. Verify jobs scheduled are correctly set-up and ready to run production:
§ OQI
§ Tables
§ Robot Cage or Conveyor
§ Order Totes and or bubble wrap (Packaging according to OQI).
§ Cutting tools – Nippers, torch, and or knife.
§ Establish Line Layout.
a. 5S – See Last page for detail
3. General tasks
§ Line Side Evaluations (To be done anytime when you are at a Machine, Breaks, and Lunch)
§ Watch Operator preform duties; are they following the OQI?
§ Visually inspect Line Side area; are things in the correct spot –
a. Is the OQI hanging in front of the Operator (or as close as possible if no location to hang).
b. Label bins.
c. Non-conforming part rack (opposite end, or away from the Finished Good location).
d. Packaging (is it organized).
e. Finish Good skids.
§ Visually inspect parts based on OQI requirements.
a. This includes label correctness.
b. The L2, Quality Technician, or Operator will be responsible to seal all boxes as required that he or she inspects.
§ Continuously verify each Press for parts that have been set aside that are deemed “Bad” by the Operators.
§ L2 (Dedicated Line) Inspectors – 100% inspect product for component placement, component count, and part quality.
§ Move Finish Good product to staging area and or Warehouse by using a hand Jack.
§ Band Finish Good skids in staging area or lineside location.
§ Verify skid quantity, scan Finish Good product as needed to Shuttle location. Return scanner back to dock location.
§ Remove and replace full regrind barrels if required (this task will be shared with Material Handlers and Process Technicians).
§ Verify inventory counts.
§ Key Reset Assembly Machines (following procedure AW8.2-3-20 (00)).
4. Trainer
§ Attend the Train the Trainer Class.
a. Must be a Certified Trainer
§ Must be able to read, understand, and communicate the instructions on the OQI.
§ Must have experience on the majority of everything that runs in the Cell.
§ Know and understand 5S requirements.
5. Setting up a new job prior to a mold or style change:
§ Count and print a label for any partials.
§ Scan and move all product of previous style to staging area.
§ Discard old labels.
§ (This may be done by the Quality Tech) - Remove OQI, place in Quality Lab. Retrieve next style of OQI and place lineside.
§ Review OQI for packaging requirements.
a. Order packaging including Foam or Bubble.
§ Have Shift Lead change schedule in the Shop Floor Computer to next job running.
6. Printing Labels
§ Print (1) side of the label at a time if running Rights or Lefts.
a. Take labels to the Press, compare entire label to the OQI.
b. Have the Operator preform secondary check by comparing the Item Code, quantity, and Right or Left if applicable.
c. Operator will then place label in correct Black or Yellow Bin. Note: if labels are not Right or Left they are to be placed in a Black Bin.
§ Print other side of label and follow same process as above.
a. Shift Lead is to verify the correct labels are at the Press per the OQI. They are to verify Right Hand labels are in a Black Bin and Left Hand labels are in a Yellow Bin. If job is not Right or Left, the labels are to be placed in a Black Bin. Shift Lead verification is to be done within 30 minutes at the beginning of the Shift or the start of a new job.
7. Shift Lead Skid and or Finish Good Verification
§ When skid has been completed, the L2 is to page the Shift Lead to the Press.
§ The Shift Lead will visually verify each label per quantity, right or left, and Item Code. Once complete the Shift Lead will stamp off the pallet label or Finish Good Container label. (Note: This activity brings constant awareness on the label).
8. Breaks and Lunch
§ Responsible for three breaks and lunches.
§ Complete the break schedule form for each break / lunch.
§ Prior to starting breaks or lunches; must verify each Press has the following:
a. Labels printed
b. Packaging
c. Components
d. All product is checked and scanned
e. Must have each Press caught up and able to sustain until all breaks and lunches are complete.
9. End of Shift Requirement
§ Verify each Press Operator completes their Shift Report and prepares the oncoming Shift Report.
§ Verify each Press Operator is cleaning their area.
§ Verify each Press has 2hrs worth of packaging to start the oncoming shift.
10. Communication
§ Communicates changes in standard operating procedures during shift and to oncoming shift.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
§ Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
§ 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
§ Comfort in relating to all levels of management and diversity of personalities
§ Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
§ Intermediate ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
§ Intermediate ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
