SUMMARY
Assures the quality of product based on customer specifications by means of visual inspections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Visually inspect parts based on OQI requirements and master samples, encompassing a10-15 % audit of parts per box / tote with a minimum # of boxes per skid dictated by the OQI. This includes match to good part sample, label correctness, and traceability accuracy for production and rework of parts. The Quality Technician will be responsible to seal all boxes as required that he or she inspects.
- The Quality Technician will be the initial person responsible for the quality of parts in the cell.
- Communication of standards and any deviations of those standards within the cell as well as customer driven communication, cell related performance, and continuous improvement feedback.
- Submits start up parts to QC lab for approval and retention. (Present at start-ups and re-starts).
- Retrieves last shot samples produced off of each job and submits to QC Lab for retention.
- Makes determination of parts deemed questionable by press operators while assuring the 5-piece scrap rule is adhered to. Communication of excess scrap will be via a reaction plan.
- Inspects, coordinates, and records work performed by the group. Including Past Problem History and hourly press checks.
- Monitors cell conformance to work instructions and reports issues to supervisor for handling.
- Filing, distributing, and copying control plans supporting each job.
- Check parts to Master samples two times per shift and at start up.
- Investigates all Non-Conformances and enters onto the system.
- Support L2 with Stanley start up /restart first box procedure.
- Support setting up of work cell.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
