What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at All Star Labor & Staffing?
The Quality Assurance Technician performs duties to assure product packaging complies with Food Safety and Food Quality requirements, including product document creation and food safety document control.
Quality Control
1. Reviews material and finished product testing and inspection results for compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
2. Interface with 3rd party laboratories; sending samples, requesting testing and reviewing results.
3. Manages and maintains product data collection logs and spreadsheets.
4. Keeps Sales and Production Staff informed and updated of QC/QA functions regarding materials, finished products and sale order processing in real time.
5. Respond to Sales and Customer quality document requests.
6. Respond to customer complaints, review deviations, non-conforming product issues and preventative and corrective actions.
7. Manage and have oversite over all associated logs and reports.
8. Manages and has oversite of product samples and sample retention.
2. Food Safety
1. Participate as a food safety team member.
2. Review preventative control data, determine compliance with established limits and verify results.
3. Support continual improvement through review and recommendations of QA/QC SOPS, food safety plan and regulatory requirements and industry updates/changes.
4. Support BRCGS standard management and improvement.
3. Certification programs and regulatory requirements.
1. Be responsible for keeping program documentation up to date and understanding the NOP organic certification, kosher certification and BRCGS certification process and reporting systems.
2. Participates in certification audits and inspections.
3. Understands regulatory requirements and supports compliance of all relevant regulations.
4. Other Quality Control and Quality Assurance tasks are assigned and directed.
· High School Graduate
· 2-year associate degree in a biological science or equivalent experience.
· Competent use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
· Demonstrated work ethic, integrity and professional conduct.
· Knowledge of Food Safety – FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, etc. preferred.
· Capable of self-task and time management.
· Ability to perform duties in a timely manner in support of meeting expected timelines and deadlines.
· Attention to detail.
· Able to multi-task.
· Ability and desire to learn new skills and concepts.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
