Job Title: Physical Therapy Aide
Classification: Hourly/Non-exempt
Reports to: Clinic Director, Physical Therapist, Lead Aide
Summary of Job: The aide works under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Provides assistance to the patient(s) and performs basic duties within the clinic.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Physical Therapy or Medical back office experience helpful but not required
- Athletic experience helpful but not required
Qualifications:
- Interest in physical therapy or related medical field
- Understanding of and ability to perform outstanding customer service
- Cheerful, positive, can-do attitude
- Willingness to go the extra mile

- Ability to follow directions and use sound judgment while performing duties

Duties and Responsibilities (ALL actions related to patients must be directed by the Physical Therapist:
- Preparation of patients for treatment, including:
- Assisting patients to treatment area
- Assisting with prescribed modalities
- Monitoring patient exercises
- Reporting all problems, concerns regarding patients to the primary PT prior to beginning treatment
- Cleaning & maintenance
- Clerical – assist with front office duties, as requested
- Other duties and tasks, as assigned
Physical Requirements: The Physical Therapist Aide should have a wide range of physical abilities including, but not limited to, the ability to pull, push, lift and stoop as the situation requires. Also:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance, consistent with federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to spend 90 % of the workday standing and walking
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Must be able to listen and speak clearly
