Summary
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing and development of existing products and evaluating performance of products and vendors in order to appeal to our customer base and at the same time increase revenue and profitability for the company. This position may require travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develops and implements sourcing strategies to optimize costs, improve quality, and ensure the availability of goods and services.
- Conducts market research to stay informed about industry trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate and select suppliers based on performance, quality, and reliability.
- Analyzes costs, negotiates pricing, and identifies opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or service.
- Implements cost tracking mechanisms to monitor and report on savings achieved through sourcing initiatives.
- Assesses and manages risks associated with the supply chain, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors.
- Develops and implements contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Regularly evaluates and optimizes sourcing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implements best practices and stays updated on industry advancements to drive continuous improvement in the sourcing function.
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all sourcing activities.
- Works closely and assists with the Replenishment and Category Management teams to develop domestic sourcing strategies and execution plans.
- Manages suppliers, including but not limited to: supplier selection, supplier performance, quality control, packaging requirements, pricing and terms negotiations.
- Works closely with Replenishment teams on non-conforming suppliers in areas of delivery, quality and pricing.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, climb, bend and kneel on an occasional basis.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
- Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.
- Able to push, pull and lift up to 15lbs. on an occasional basis.

Required Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, logistics, operations, procurement, supply chain management or similar degree areas or with a two-year associate degree and work experience in the related field.
- Prior experience in Product Management or Sourcing from US and international vendors.
- Industry certifications are considered a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in addition to excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Experience using and interpreting parts diagrams helpful, but not required.
- Agricultural products knowledge is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel as required.

- This position does not require any special certifications, licenses, or registrations.
