Loader Operator

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Loader Operator to join our team’s quarry site. The Loader Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment, such as front-end loaders, to move, load, and transport aggregate materials within the quarry.

Essential Functions:

• Operate loaders and excavators to move and load materials, such as stone, sand, and gravel, into crushers, screens, or trucks.
• Manage material stockpiles and maintain organized and safe work areas.
• Assist in operating and maintaining equipment such as screens and stackers.
• Perform routine pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
• Adhere to safety regulations, including MSHA Part 46 standards and company policies.
• Monitor material quality and ensure proper handling to meet production specifications.
• Support site cleanup and minor equipment repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with quarry staff and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.

Required Experience

• Proven experience operating a loader and excavator in a quarry or similar environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years experience.
• Must be motivated and able to handle multiple projects with little supervision in an extremely fast paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Will be required to pass a physical and drug screen.

Preferred Experience

• Massachusetts (MA) hydraulic license (we will assist with obtaining this license if needed).
• MSHA Part 46 Certification.
• Experience operating screens and stackers.

Work Conditions:

Must be able to tolerate moderate to loud noise level (PPE will be provided, including hearing protection as required), long hours standing, walking, and laboring outdoors in varying weather conditions – frequently in extreme heat.

Independent Action:

Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with Foreman where clarification or exception to procedure may be required.
