Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated staff who can provide exceptional care to residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for care giving and possess the necessary skills to ensure the well-being of our residents. The staff will assist with acquiring the necessary skills to reside successfully in a group home. Provide appropriate support tailored to the needs and desires of each individual in the home to enable each to live independently as possible. Occasional overtime is required as a safety precaution. All earned overtime has to be justified and approved
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for residents
- Administer first aid when necessary and monitor vital signs
- Provide direct support to residents as needed
- Drive residents to ISS Training facility
Specific Duties:
- Approach all duties and responsibilities in a professional manner. (i.e. dress appropriately, be punctual and dependable, maintain a positive attitude. Follows the established chain of command)
-Train/assist consumers in accomplishing ROUTINE HOUSEKEEPING TASK, meal/menu preparation, grocery shopping, grooming, bathing, etc.
- Assist consumers with monitoring medical needs, including scheduling and transporting to medical appointments, filling prescriptions, and self-administration of medications.
- Train consumers in the areas of home safety, first aid, emergency procedures, including the identification of and response to dangerous or life threatening situations.
- Complete data collection and other forms as required.
- Assist consumers in social outings as per the individual special service plan (ISP).
Requirements:
- Experience in a group home or similar setting preferred
- Ability to lift and move residents safely
- Knowledge of resident rights and regulations governing by HHSC/HCS
- Certification in first aid is a plus
-Valid driver’s license for the purpose of transporting consumers
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Ability to prepare written reports.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
