What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) position at ALL THINGS HEALTH CARE?
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation
- Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) and report any abnormalities to the nurse
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure adequate nutrition and hydration
- Monitor and report changes in clients' condition, including physical, emotional, and mental well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Document care provided in client charts accurately and completely
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
- Ensure client confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Current CNA certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting (home health preferred)
- Strong compassion and a genuine desire to help others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate clients with minimal assistance
- Proficiency in documentation and record keeping
