Overview:
Allbritten The Barefoot Plumber, a trusted name in home services for over 90 years, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations. The Controller will oversee all accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and support strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Oversight:
- Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant state and federal regulations.
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances and provide actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with department managers to align financial performance with operational goals.

Cash Flow & Financial Planning:
- Monitor daily cash flow and manage banking relationships.
- Forecast short- and long-term cash requirements and manage capital needs.
- Oversee credit and collections policies and procedures.
- Strategic Financial Analysis:
- Provide leadership with financial insights to support strategic planning and business growth.
- Analyze job costing, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop financial models and dashboards for ongoing performance tracking.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Oversee internal audits and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements and other regulatory filings.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable finance team culture.
- Implement tools and technologies to improve financial operations and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience: 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior financial leadership role (home services or construction industry experience highly preferred).
