Senior Software Engineer

We are a Series-A healthtech start-up based in NYC building an innovative product that combines healthcare’s first real-time pricing protocol with an online marketplace. Our mission is to provide consumers with more accessibility and transparency when they engage with the health system. Our product will bring a 21st century experience to how one receives medical care.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join on team and specialize on developing our real-time intelligent pricing engine. This product leverages machine learning and real-time data to provide transparent and accurate pricing for medical services. You will own and develop scalable systems to analyze and aggregate large volumes of healthcare data with a keen eye for accuracy, security and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, optimize, and maintain backend services and APIs that facilitate real-time price calculations, predictions, and protocols.
• Collaborate with data engineers, front end engineers, and machine learning engineers to ensure seamless data flow and real-time updates for our web applications.
• Build and scale data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and synchronizing healthcare data across multiple, large-scale systems.
• Optimize backend performance, focused on ensuring the reliability and scalability of our services as the user base grows substantially.

Technical Skills:

• B.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field
• 3 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally using languages like Python, Go, Typescript/Javascript.
• Expertise in designing and consuming GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/GCP), distributed computing, and database technologies (MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Experience with event driven, real-time, architectures and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in fintech, e-commerce, or healthcare pricing is a plus.
