ALLEGANY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT JOB ANNOUNCEMENTCOORDINATOR SPECIAL PROGRAMS II HEALTH SERVICES, MENTAL HEALTHMERIT VACANCY WITH STATE OF MARYLAND BENEFITS LOCATION : Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA) NATURE OF WORK : This position will perform behavioral health functions of the Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA). This position will plan and monitor services / activities provided through LBHA; conduct surveys; complete investigations related to behavioral health program services; make recommendations to the supervisor regarding the utilization of existing services and the need for expanded services; act as the LBHA liaison for collaboration with public and private community agencies. This position will develop training opportunities for staff working the program services. This position will participate in the development of policies and procedures for improved services. Other duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience : One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.Notes : 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Experience working with other professionals and agencies to provide consultation and assistance to public and private sectors.Experience planning and monitoring program services (preferably with mental health).Experience developing and implementing public education programs, comfortable promoting and explaining available services to the public (public speaking).
