ALLEGANY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTMENTAL HEALTH GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORFULL-TIME MONDAY-FRIDAY 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM; NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYSFULL STATE OF MARYLAND BENEFIT PACKAGE LOCATION : Behavioral Health, based at Allegany County Detention Center NATURE OF WORK : This position is assigned duties at the Allegany County Detention Center to provide general substance abuse treatment services for inmates at the detention center. Duties include completing evaluations / admissions, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, family contacts crisis intervention, accurate record keeping, initiating referrals and consultation with other agencies that are associated with the Allegany County Health Department. Other duties as assigned. NOTE : Must attend and pass the 6-week Maryland Correctional Academy in Hagerstown. Physical exam, psychological screening, urinalysis, and background required as part of program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC). Experience : None. SALARY : $60,987 – $66,911 annually; full State of Maryland benefit package. HOURS : Full-time Monday-Friday 8 : 00 am – 4 : 30 pm; no weekends or holidays.
